If you have seen the movie, "The Replacements" with Keanu Reeves and Gene Hackman you'll recall a scene where the players are sitting in a meeting room talking about fears....  Finally "QB Shane Falco" talks about quicksand...  "You're playing and one thing goes wrong... then another... then another...  then another until you can't move, can't breathe.. you're in over your head.. like quicksand...

That's the way we started the game tonight...  Immediately giving up 5 goals - the first three in the first minute..  However, after calling time out - letting the girls catch their breath and calm down - I could see it in their eyes, they weren't finished..  By halftime we were down by one...  We then tied the game, went ahead and it went back and forth from there..  All coaches want the "W", but seeing the girls "get it" and keep fighting, that's what makes all coaches smile...

The same can be said for the 10 on 10 game, the girls just kept fighting.  Ultimately, both teams began to trust in each other and that's a "Win" for the rest of the season...  Stepping back and remembering that almost all of the 10 on 10 game players and a third of the Varsity game players have never held a lacrosse stick before the season began, we definitely have the foundation to go forward.  Very proud of my girls...  VERY PROUD!!
