Good to see the girls get their first win. Also interesting to visit the ole stomping ground as Coach Heather played for Liberty's Varsity for four years while I had the opportunity to coach... Yes, it was interesting to go back....
Saw a lot of good passing and shots from our girls... Our Goalie was a beast again with 12 saves - 3 of which came in about 8 seconds as a shot was made - deflected; ground ball picked up and shot - deflected; another ground ball picked up and shot - caught and cleared... Thank goodness we have her for two more years...
We never really could get into a rhythm since - due to a scheduled JV Soccer game - we had to play RUNNING CLOCK both halves.... You never really notice how much time draws, re-positioning girls after fouls, etc., takes until it actually takes away from the game clock... Think this is the first Varsity GLAX game I have seen that lasted about an hour.....
Again - good win and hopefully we will carry this forward when we play our first home game Monday night against Culpeper.
