Recap:  In a very well played game by both teams, Fauquier appeared to have an early advantage in possession but could not generate many scoring chances against an excellent Liberty back line.  Meanwhile Liberty created some quality scoring chances early on but were not able to capitalize.  The Falcons finally broke through with about 15 minutes remaining in the first half when left back Aubrey Munoz took a free kick from the left side outside of the 18 yard box.  The ball was tipped by the Eagles goalkeeper, bounced off of the crossbar, and fell into the path of striker Caity Ashley who put the ball in the back off the net giving the Falcons a 1-0 lead.  The Falcons second goal came with about 6 minutes remaining in the first half when the unfortunate Liberty goalkeeper, facing a stiff wind and sleet, was unable to handle a ball played back to her at a very high pace from one of her fullbacks, resulting in an own goal.  The two sides continued to play well and battled throughout the second half, but neither team was able to get the all important next goal and the game ended 2-0 in favor of the Falcons.
