Recap: Both teams traded scoring chances in the first half, but it was Brentsville that finally opened the scoring late in the half when forward Skylar Dowell towered above the crowd just outside the 6 yard box and directed a header into the left corner of the goal on a corner kick giving the Tigers a 1-0 lead. Brenstville struck again in the second half scoring on a penalty kick after questionable call for an illegal touch inside the 18 yard box. The Falcons finally broke through when Caity Ashley got behind the Tigers back line on a great through ball from center midfielder Hayley Dodds, dribbled into the 18 yard box and slid the ball past the Tiger's goalkeeper with just over 5 minutes remaining. The Falcons had a couple of chances to tie the game, the last coming on a surging run down the right by Julie Kohler with just over a minute remaining. Julie missed wide and Brentsville recorded another win over the Falcons by a final score of 2-1.
Starting center backs Shelby Adams and Rachel Jones played well but sustained injuries in the first half. Sophomore Elizabeth Liebel and outside back Aubrey Munoz played center back during the second half and did an outstanding job. Gaby Tirado, who played right back for the entire game, and Megan Enos, who dropped from the striker position to left back, also put in strong defensive efforts. In all, five freshman played a significant role in the game, including Megan Diehl, Megan Enos, Natalie Bennett, Cassidy Wagoner and Mia Barreda who played the entire game at the center midfield position.
