The girls won their first ever match in Conference 22 on the road against a quick and talented Chancellor team.  The girls scored 5 minutes into the match due to some excellent combination play from midfielders Mia Barreda and Kamryn Dietrich and striker Cassidy Wagoner.  Mia received the ball on the left side of the field and quickly passed the ball into Kamryn who had run from the left flank to the center of the 18 yard box.  Kamryn laid the ball off to Cassidy who dribbled around the goalkeeper and put the ball in the net to score the opening goal.  Mia scored what turned out to be the game winning goal on a free kick from 20 yards out with 15 minutes remaining in the first half. Her kick got over the Chancellor wall and squeezed between the hands of the Chancellor goalkeeper and the crossbar.  The Chargers had a number of quality shots on goal in the first half, with one strike hitting the crossbar, but were unable to break through in the first half.

The Chargers came out hard in the second half winning several corner kicks in the opening minutes of the half.  Those corner kicks paid off 10 minutes into the half when a Charger player connected with a deflected ball and just beat goalkeeper Caroline Liebel who got a hand to the ball but was not able to deflect it enough to keep the ball out of the goal.  Both teams battled very hard over the final 30 minutes but neither team was able to score another goal and the game ended 2-1 in favor of the Falcons.  Both teams played extremely well considering that it was the first match of the season and given the limited ability of both teams to practice outdoors due to harsh weather conditions.  Caroline ended up contributing 13 saves to help the Falcons secure their first conference win.
