The girls played a very competitive match against a strong Eastern View team in a game that could have gone either way.  Both teams created some quality chances in the first half, but could not break through as both teams were strong defensively and both goalkeepers were ready when called upon to make a save.  The tempo of the game ramped up in the second half, and the girls had several great opportunities to score, several times creating chaos inside the 18 yard box but unable to put the ball in the back of the net against a stingy Eastern View defense.  Eastern View finally broke the gridlock with 16 minutes remaining in the second half when they were awarded a very questionable free kick.  The ball was sent into the 18 yard box, where an Eastern View player made an attempt on goal from the right.  They capitalized when goalkeeper Kaylee Lamper made the initial save diving to her right but was unable to hold the ball. Eastern View scored on a follow up shot that went just inside the near post.  Kaylee had an exceptional game, and the team as a whole played a great game.  It was a close game between two very good teams.  Hopefully the rematch at FHS will be equally exciting.
