The Cougars started out in dominating fashion, but the girls settled into the match after about 15 minutes. The game was very competitive and looked as if it could go either way until about 20 minutes remaining in the second half. Cougars right back Ally Green Launched a soaring 50 yard ball into the Cougars penalty area. The ball was collected cleanly by Cougars forward Liz Keefer, who after a terrific first touch blasted the ball into the back of the net from just outside the 6 yard box. A short time later the Cougars won a corner kick. Allie Zuras put an attempt on frame, and goalkeeper Kaylee Lamper made a fingertip save the deflected off the cross bar and back into the 6 yard box. Cougars onrushing forward Emily Brummett chested the ball down and then placed a shot into the back of the net. The Cougars final goal came when forward Emily Yergin turned the corner near the goal line on the right hand side and made a beautiful pass to Hailey Johnson at the top of the 18 yard box. Hailey hit a clean strike to give the Cougars a comfortable 3-0 advantage.
The Falcons lone goal came with 5:38 remaining when forward Sedona Bivek chased down a through ball, arriving at the same time as the Cougars goalkeeper. The ball deflected away and into the path of forward Eme Bouchere who buried the shot for her first goal of the season. Sedona narrowly missed a shot on a breakaway opportunity with 3:00 remaining which could have made things interesting, but the ball went into the lacrosse net behind the goal and the Cougars finished off the game for a 3-1 win.
