The girls were able to pick up a win in the first of three away game this week against a fast and athletic Culpeper County High School team. In an evenly played first half, the Falcons scored the breakthrough goal 16 minutes into the first half when Sedona Bisek collected the ball at midfield and made a strong run down the left hand side. She cut inside and finished with a nice shot into the right hand corner of the net from 10 yards out. Forward Natalie Burns gave the Falcons a 2 goal cushion with just over 14 minutes remaining. Sedona played a ball to Natalie from midfield. Natalie was able to get to the ball just ahead of the Culpeper goalkeeper and a defender, touched the ball to the right around both players, and was able to win the race to tap the ball into the back of the net.
A combination back line of Tarah Markell, Claire Beaulieu, Kailey Vance, CatiAdele Slater, Kristina Davis, Cate Boulter and Victoria Kroencke did an outstanding job defensively while goalkeeper Kaylee Lamper had another solid performance in goal. Midfielders Madeleine Hayes, Megan Dietrich, Erin Jones, Caroline Diehl, Olivia Chirasello and Emily Williamson also had a strong performance in both the defending and attacking phases of the game. Forward Cameron Vincenzo also did a great job of pressuring the Culpeper back line in a first half shift.
