Updated on 06/10/2022 | Ken McInnis
Wow - 22 new girls signed up.. Considering we only had 4 freshmen try out last year - yeah, I'd say this was a good start. With so much natural talent on the field - can't wait for the season to start... If anyone else is interested, please drop Coach Mac an email and coachmac.fhs@gmail.com and you'll be invited to our next camp...

GLAX FUN CAMP
Updated on 06/10/2022
There will be a Girl's Lacrosse Fun Camp on Saturday the 24th of September from 8:30AM until 11:30AM on the Fockey/GLAX practice field. This is a no pressure / fun camp to introduce the new girls to lacrosse; go over the basics and answer any questions you might have. The Camp will be run by returning players and - of course - there is NO CHARGE. Please plan on bringing your stick, goggles and a mouthpiece. If you don't have a stick and goggles - come anyway. We'll figure something out.....
So that we can plan accordingly, please send an email to coachmac.fhs@gmail.com if you can attend.
Hope to see you there.

Any girl interested in playing lacrosse next Spring - especially you rising 9th graders - please send me an email - coachmac.fhs@gmail.com - so I can include you on everything I send out to the team. We will be getting together during the summer; we will have a team in the TripleEDGE summer lacrosse league; we are teaming up with Wakefield School to form a Fall Travel Team and will be doing some tournaments on our own.
Don't worry if you have never played - we will teach you and make it fun... If we get enough girls that are interested and have never played - we will have our own camp/tutorial so you will be ready to go by tryouts next Spring...
All you have to do is take that first step and I know you'll be glad you did........

2016 FHS GLAX AWARDS CEREMONY
Updated on 06/10/2022 | Coach Mac
This year's awards ceremony / pool party was held at Coach Mac's home this past Friday night. After some Burgers/Brats/BBQ; swim time and lacrosse shoot outs - with gift cards to Carousel as the prizes - a break was taken to issue awards.
JV Certificates were issued to: Hannah Cherundolo, Leah Nascimento, Baillie Whittington, Fallon Weisbrodt, Aaliyah Craig, Brenda Sandoval, Meaghan Chesley, Anna Petty, Elisabeth Sutton, Abigal Myers and Hazel McCulla. As a goalie, Hazel also earned enough playtime to receive a Varsity Certificate/Letter.
Varsity Certificates/Letters were issued to: Abbi Findley, Maddie Stum, Yvie Frazier, Payton O'Hara, Laura Elphee, Maddie Martin, Allison Cree, Carleigh Cordova, Brenna Chappelle, Lexi Boone, Mindy Hale and Seniors (picture displayed): Olivia Brown, Laura Newbill, Lauren Canard, Lindsy Smarrelli, Alexis Flohr, Katie McCoy and Haeley Deeney. Additionally, Jenna Helmick earned her Varsity Certificate/Letter for Lacrosse Manager. Well done Jenna.
This year the DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR Award was split as both Katie McCoy and Haeley Deeney received the award. They were the one/two punch of the FHS Defense. Katie, once again, received 1st Team ALL DISTRICT and 2nd Team ALL REGION defensive honors. Haeley - after a two year hiatus abroad - received 2nd Team ALL DISTRICT defensive honors. Congrats to both girls.
The COACH MAC AWARD went to Laura Elphee. This is the award that is given to "that girl" that always give 100%- never stops - both at practice and in games. If someone needs to be covered one on one - Laura is the one that's called on to perform the task.
The IMPACT PLAYER OF THE YEAR award to Brenna Chappelle. While Brenna for some reason did not receive any ALL DISTRICT accolades, she lead the District in Percentage of Goals Blocked (55%) and Goals Blocked (171). Congrats Brenna - you were fantastic this year.
As always, I named Captains for the next year. Thus far, I have always had two Senior and one Junior Captain(s). SENIOR CAPTAINS: Maddie Martin and Laura Elphee; JUNIOR CAPTAIN: Carleigh Cardova who also received 2nd Team ALL DISTRICT Offensive honors.
I look forward to next season as we have a lot to prove and I believe we have the girls to do it... Fingers crossed we have a lot of Freshmen that want to explore the world of Girl's Lacrosse. Warning though, once you do, you won't go back...
